Jack Harrison's transfer position clarified amid Leeds United exit speculation

Mountains are quickly made out of molehills in the transfer window and no second invites were needed for Jack Harrison’s Brisbane comments to take off. With Leeds United now in Perth on the third leg of their Australia tour, Jesse Marsch has taken the sting out of the tail.

Harrison’s pitchside interview felt stunted and rushed at the time, but the winger was taken at face value when he said he would see what happens with his Leeds future. Marsch feels his winger had not intended to fan the flames on any transfer saga.

The American could only reiterate Harrison remains a firm part of his plans, the player’s own happiness with his situation and how there is always interest in United players because of their quality. He also said Harrison would clarify his own position, in his own words, in due course.

“Jack unintentionally brought attention to the whole situation because, for sure, his intention is to be with us,” said Marsch. “Even when I mentioned about [how] we listen to lots of offers for lots of players, that's the reality of what our business is.

“There's always interest in our players because we have quality players. We're in the top league in the world, but we feel strongly the guys we have within our group right now can help us be really successful and Jack is certainly one of those.

“Jack really didn't mean to bring any attention to it and I'm sure he'll have his chance to give his side of things, but I know he's happy here. I know he loves playing for the club and he and I have a great relationship, and he knows how important I think he is to what we're doing here in the future.”
