Jack Grealish responds to strange Liverpool FC comments on Man City title race

Jack Grealish says he doesn't believe claims from Liverpool that they aren't focussing on Manchester City's results in the title race as he previewed the Premier League clash with Manchester United.

Liverpool beat West Ham on Saturday to move to within three points of City with both teams having played the same number of games. City can move back to six points clear with victory over United on Sunday, giving Liverpool back their game in hand.

After Liverpool's win, boss Jurgen Klopp was asked if he would be watching City on Sunday to see if they slipped up, to which he said he didn't even know when the leaders play.

He said: "No. It's the truth, I wouldn't even know when City is playing to be honest, we didn't think about it.

"We were completely here in preparation for this game. We have to win these days, especially this game we will see. If we do that and win football matches then we can put pressure on, without winning football games, no.

"I told your colleagues in the press conference yesterday, I really want to win this game today and if we lose this game everyone will be asking me 'is the title race over?' Sometimes your job is really easy, we just have to throw everything we have in the next game and that's West Ham."

In response to Liverpool's win, and asked whether the result gives City extra motivation in the derby, Grealish hit back at Klopp, saying: "People say they don't watch but you obviously do, you keep track on other teams around you. It gives us an extra bit of motivation."
