Jack Grealish gives four-word assessment of first year at Man City and makes vow for next season

Jack Grealish used four words to review his debut season at Manchester City as he made a defiant vow for next year.

Speaking moments after lifting his first Premier League title, Grealish gave an honest assessment of a mixed first year at the Blues, where he hasn't always reached the heights of his time at Aston Villa, but has steadily improved under Pep Guardiola.

Asked to reflect on his season in three words, he instead offered four, telling Sky Sports: "Harder than I thought!

"More difficult than I thought, I stepped out of my comfort zone, new changing room, new surroundings, and new teammates. Harder than I thought but this today makes up for it.

"I know I can kick on and certainly will, I feel I've played my part in certain games, little things like the goal at West Ham, I can kick on so much more, I know myself how much of a role I've got to play at this club.

"Everyone's made me so welcome, my first day was the worst day ever going into the new changing room, the lads here are unbelievable, I've loved it so much."

When asked later if he could enjoy his football next season after winning his first major trophy, Grealish reiterated his intention to kick on at City in 2022/23.

"I come here and said I wanted to win trophies, I couldn't imagine people outside from other clubs if I didn't win that today," he smiled.

"I feel next season I can really kick on. I know, I was doing gambos (sic) in front of [Guardiola] at one point, I was desperate to come on. Sometimes, for me especially, I feel so much more nervous watching the game, for me in the moment you don't really think I just wanted
