Jack Butland breaks silence on Rangers fan bust up as he hits out at 'unacceptable' behaviour

Goalkeeper Jack Butland has addressed a confrontation with Rangers fans that circulated on social media following the win over Kilmarnock.

Despite the Ibrox side running out 4-1 winners against Derek McInnes' men, there were angry scenes in the car park outside of the stadium following the full-time whistle. Many punters were unhappy with the overall performance and Rangers' recent form, which has seen Celtic emerge as favourites to claim the Scottish Premiership title going into Saturday's Old Firm derby.

Temperatures boiled over when England cap Butland was seen having an angry confrontation with a punter after fans gathered to catch a glimpse of their heroes with some asking for autographs. The 31-year-old can be seen exchanging words with fans with one punter stating 'I pay your wages' before he storms away from the heated clash. He wasn't the only one from the Rangers squad to be involved with a supporter - with Borna Barisic having to be separated from one fan following the game in Govan.

Speaking on the incident for the first time, Butland said: "When you have a Rangers family as big as it is, and you are there with your own kids sometimes people overstep the mark, especially in front of children. That has been addressed and we have moved on from it.

"It is always a situation people are going to try and make something out of. Wherever you go you have tensions you have people who want and expect everything from people that don't know what is going on half the time, but to be honest that is just part of the parcel of football. That is not what this week is about and that is not what tomorrow is about. I think it has been put to bed many days ago so it is no concern to me now."

He will look put that behind him
