ITV This Morning's Ben Shephard's horror injury with broken leg and severed nerves

This Morning presenter Ben Shephard shared the shocking details of a gruesome injury, when he was forced to appear on TV sporting a leg brace. Back in 2020, Ben confessed to Good Morning Britain viewers that he had suffered a ruptured ACL, torn meniscus, and a fractured leg while playing football, but initially didn't realise how serious it was and continued with the game.

He went on to say that he had cut through nerves, which explained why he hadn't felt the full impact at the time. Ben later went on to have rehab for the injury.

At the start of the programme, which Ben used to host with Susanna Reid, she commented on his condition, saying: "I wish I had taken a photograph in my dressing room this morning, because Ben came in with quite the get up on your leg." "Quite the outfit, yep," Ben agreed. Susanna queried, "You had a sort of holding device? " to which Ben responded, "A brace." Ben elaborated on his situation: "I have.a few weeks to go, you may remember I played in the Cup Final of the Arthur Dunn veterans cup, my old boys team." "We won the Cup Final, but I started with two legs and ended with one." "Without realising, I have ruptured my ACL, I've torn the meniscus and I've fractured part of my leg as well." Dr Hilary Jones chimed in, acknowledging the severity of the injury: "That's a nasty injury, that is a nasty injury." Susanna then asked if Dr Hilary had been the one to prescribe the brace, to which he replied, "No, but I approved of it! It's not a great look, let's be honest," prompting laughter from Dr Hilary.
