ITV The Masked Singer viewers have 'realisation' over winner Danny Jones as fans all ask for same thing

McFly star Danny Jones has been revealed as the man behind the Piranha mask in tonight's grand final of ITV's The Masked Singer UK.

The Bolton musician claimed victory in the fifth series of the zany competition, beating Big Foot and Cricket to the top. Comedian Alex Brooker was the runner-up, while popstar Lemar claimed third prize.

Viewers of the talent contest were happy to see fishy character Piranha come out on top, with many saying they had recognised Danny's distinctive voice from early on in the series. But others took to social media to share their surprise at the reveal, with many praising the singer's vocals after he wowed the crowd with a powerful rendition of Celine Dion's It’s All Coming Back To Me Now.

Danny, 37, is best known for playing guitar and performing joint lead vocals in the boyband McFly, who have released seven studio albums since they rose to fame 20 years ago with their debut record Room On The Third Floor.

But it seems some people were unfamiliar with the star's talent. "I did not know Danny Jones could sing like that, damn," one person wrote on X, formerly Twitter, while another commented: "Danny Jones has serious range with his voice."

A third said: "Got the top three right in Masked Singer. Only other one I got right was Alexander Armstrong. What I didn’t know was exactly how good a singer Danny Jones is. Whole new appreciation for McFly!!!"
