ITV Saturday Night Takeaway viewers 'in bits' over surprise wedding as Ant and Dec arrange secret ceremony for fan

A Saturday Night Takeaway audience member received a huge surprise when her fiance sprung a secret wedding on her with help from hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly.

Vicky Powell was sitting in the studio audience with her best friends when the hosts called her name and summoned her to the stage on the ITV show.

Vicky, who is expecting a baby in May, thought she was in London for a girls' trip while her other half Nick was in Miami.

Ant and Dec explained to viewers that Vicky and her fiance had postponed their wedding three times due to the coronavirus pandemic and had lost £28,000 after their intended venue went bust.

As Nick appeared on screen a hotel backdrop behind him disappeared and a crowd of wedding guests appeared in the background.

Ant and Dec then explained that 100 of their friends and family were waiting to see them get married live on TV at The Orangery at Chiswick House, and they had arranged to have her flown there via helicopter.

The TV favourites then handed her a bouquet with their faces on it as the final flourish.

After the newlyweds said their vows they had another surprise for them - a honeymoon in Mauritius.

And viewers loved the touch of romance to the first episode of the new series, saying they were 'in bits' and 'sobbing.'

Kazza said: "Oh I love weddings, makes me all soppy."
