ITV I'm A Celebrity's Ant and Dec issue four-word statement on Celebrity Cyclone 'mistake'

Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly have been quizzed on their thoughts on the latest I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here twist that has been branded a 'mistake' by viewers.

During the latest instalment of jungle actions, viewers saw the eight remaining campmates battling it out for immunity, with only one winner. The chosen star will not only miss the next two eliminations, they will also bag a place in fan-favourite trial Celebrity Cyclone.

Normally, the final week of the jungle series sees viewers voting on who they want to stay in camp, with eliminations on a nightly basis until just four remain to take on the giant water slide-inspired challenge.

But bosses have now decided the celebs should battle it out for tokens in a new trial and whoever wins is exempt from the next two vote-offs and going straight through to take on the Celebrity Cyclone.

There hasn't been a vote-off since Wednesday and after the campmates were split into two teams to take on an arcade-themed challenge, it was revealed that Danny Jones, Oti Mabuse, Coleen Rooney and Maura Higgins will compete for that immunity during the ITV reality show on Thursday night (December 5).

With fans complaining about the "mistake" in taking the choice away from them, some not liking the new twist, hosts Ant and Dec had their own take on it. Appearing to defend the twist and ignore the haters, the pair confessed they "liked" it and that there were exciting scenes ahead, the Mirror reports.

Teasing the trial on the way for the four campmates, they revealed the result would air on Thursday night and we would know straight away who was immune for the next couple of days.
