ITV Good Morning Britain viewers react as Susanna Reid starts show alone as show shake-up gets criticism

Good Morning Britain got off to a bit of a different start today as Susanna Reid appeared on her own to host the show. The presenter, 51, is usually joined by the likes of Richard Madeley or Adil Ray, who have all stepped in to the main host role following Piers Morgan's shock exit over a year ago.

However, Wednesday's show (March 30), Susanna was flying solo as she kicked off the mid-week edition of the ITV news programme by discussing a range of topics including Prince Andrew helping the Queen with her entrance at the Duke of Edinburgh's memorial on Tuesday. She also spoke about the 20 fines issued for the 'partygate' scandal that rocked the government.

Priro to the show, she shared a selfie from the studio and commented: "Good Morning Britain! Join me & the team @gmb including Andrew, Kevin, Dr H. John Sweeney in Kyiv and Hugo Vickers who was at the Duke of Edinburgh’s Memorial yesterday."

But after chatting with her guests regarding the latest news headlines, she was joined by Martin Lewis as there was a reason behind her solo start. The Money Saving Expert founder returned to the programme after his hosting stint last week for a two-hour cost of living special, replacing Richard Madeley.

Martin was taking viewers' questions as well as dishing out his best advice as millions prepare for some of the biggest price hikes in more than a decade from later this week when the energy price cap is introduced on Friday (April 1).
