ITV Good Morning Britain viewers praise Susanna Reid as she 'destroys' Dominic Raab with 'guilty' remark

Susanna Reid has been applauded by Good Morning Britain viewers as she confronted Deputy Prime Minister Dominic Raab. The MP appeared live on the ITV news programme on Tuesday (July 5) via video link from Westminster.

Tensions were high as he appeared on the show to speak to Susanna and co-host Ed Balls to discuss claims that No. 10 had been made aware of former deputy chief whip Chris Pincher's "inappropriate behaviour" back in 2019.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson claims he was unaware of formal complaints against Mr Pincher, however, former top civil servant Simon McDonald has today issued a letter saying Downing Street's line that the PM did not know about the complaints is untrue. Susanna and Ed were delivered the latest news during the live episode of GMB.

Soon after they described the contents of Mr McDonald's letter before discussing it with a number of their guests, the hosts were joined by Mr Raab who was the government minister doing today's media rounds.

He started by discussing his understanding of the events back in 2019, which he said resulted in an "internal investigation" into Mr Pincher's behaviour and that the complaints were "upheld".

However, Susanna questioned Mr Raab: "How does somebody who is found guilty, by an internal investigation, of innapropriate behaviour - because a number of officials complained - how does that somebody, Chris Pincher in this case, get to be deputy chief whip with responsibility for welfare?"
