ITV Good Morning Britain star Ben Shephard shares touching tribute to Kate Garraway

Good Morning Britain star Ben Shephard has shared a touching tribute to his co-star and friend Kate Garraway.

The presenter featured in Kate's latest documentary on her husband Derek Draper's battle to recover from the devastating effects of Covid-19.

Caring for Derek aired on Tuesday night and followed Kate as she started caring for Derek following his return from hospital more than a year after being admitted.

Ben, 47, made an appearance near the end of the hour long-film after Kate, 54, had come back from Mexico where Derek started receiving ground-breaking treatment.

He added: "One thing everybody knows about Kate is that she hates letting anybody down.

"I don’t think she ever will [give up]."

Ben also took to Instagram to share his own personal message to his 'incredibly brave' friend.

Alongside a photo of the pair, he said: "I’ve have spent the last twenty two years working with @kategarraway learning from Kate, cleaning up after kate, but mostly laughing with Kate.

"The last few years have been so so tough for her, Derek and their family. Its incredibly brave that
