ITV Dancing On Ice praised for subtle tribute some viewers may have missed moments into show

Dancing On Ice was praised was it aired a touching - yet subtle - tribute during the latest episode.

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield returned to the rink on Sunday night for the prop-loaded edition of the show.

This week each celebrity and their professional partner were tasked with incorporating anything from a umbrella to mop and bucket into their routine.

And there was more horror on the ice as The Vamps star Connor Ball had a tumble for a second week running and suffered an injury after a blade ran into his leg during his performance.

Co-hosts Holly and Phillip informed viewers that the singer was taken to see a medic after the routine.

But it was Sally Dynevor whose time was up on the ice as she became the latest celebrity to be eliminated from the ITV skating competition.

The Coronation Street star lost out in the skate-off to Olympian Kye Whyte after judges Ashley Banjo, Oti Mabuse, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean unanimously chose to save the BMX rider.

Following her elimination, soap star Sally said: "I have had the time of my life, I can’t tell you how much I’ve loved doing the show, it’s been brilliant."

The latest episode also featured a special performance from Oti which saw her dance a routine adapted from her stage show I Am Here.

The former Strictly Come Dancing star was stationed on a platform while the professional skaters performed a routine choreographed by Torvill and Dean around her.

However, the show got off to a more sombre start with a tribute to Ukraine viewers may have missed.
