ITV Coronation Street's new on-screen love interests cosy up in sweet selfie

Summer Spellman and newbie Aaron made amends on Coronation Street last week after he gave her the cold shoulder when she revealed the extent of her struggles. The pair met at a diabetic support group after guardian Billy Mayhew discovered Summer wasn't taking her insuilin properly and making herself sick.

She quickly gravitated towards Aaron, played by James Craven, and they were soon meeting up outside the support group and appeared to be sharing a crush. However, earlier this month, Summer was crushed when her new friend said he didn't want to see her anymore. It came after he rushed off in the middle of a deep conversation in which Summer opened up about her struggle with her body image.

He tried to tell her she was 'gorgeous' but the future uni student bravely spoke about her eating disorder, clearly wanting to be honest before starting their romance. But Summer was left crushed when Aaron appeared uncomfortable and made a swift exit. But in scenes aired last week, Aaron paid a visit to Summer in hospital after he saw a picture she posted of her hooked up to machines.

The teen ended up having to leave her maths exam earlier after being unable to see. Summer hasn't been using her insulin and without her diabetes kit with her in the exam hall, she was taken to the hospital. While laid up in a hospital bed, Summer was questioned by her concerned guardian Billy Mayhew other whether her neglecting her condition was being done on purpose. Later, Aaron visited the hospital and apologised for previously rejecting her.
