ITV Coronation Street gives first look at Abi's baby as fans confused by pregnancy timeline

Coronation Street has teased what is next for Abi Franklin after delivering the mother of all surprises on Sunday night.

The soap made a rare weekend appearance on ITV after the weekday schedule was disrupted by football coverage. It also comes ahead of a major schedule change for both Corrie, Emmerdale, and its rival soap EastEnders.

But back to the episode, fans were left shocked when Abi went into labour at the side of a road after being left alone by her drug dealer, Dean.

In recent scenes viewers have watched Abi relapse after husband Kevin Webster discovered she had had a one-night stand and left her behind.

But he returned home during Sunday's trip to the cobbles to find his estranged wife on the sofa with Dean, both high on drugs and alcohol, and looking cosy as he massaged her back for her as she complained of being in pain.

After a furious Kevin called time on their relationship for good, Abi continued to spiral and carried on taking drugs with Dean.

But Abi's new friend couldn't be trusted and he was soon seen pinching the keys to Kevin's garage and stealing a customer's car. Not willing to let it happen, Abi jumped in the passenger seat and made a grab for the key, but Dean was soon careering down a country road in the stolen car.

Abi, however, is really struggling and ends up trying to ease her agony by crouching at the side of the road and asking Dean to take her to the hospital, but he got back in the vehicle and left Abi alone on the country lane.
