ITV Coronation Street fans 'figure out' new reason why Stu is innocent as they guess killer link

Coronation Street fans were shocked earlier this month when Stu Carpenter was revealed to be a murderer. Not much was known about the character who first made his appearance in the ITV soap as the homeless man who found vital evidence linking Corey Brent to the horrific murder of Seb Franklin.

With the help of Kelly Neelan, who found herself on the streets after being released from prison after being charged over Seb's death, Stu had settled into life in Weatherfield with a job at Speed Daal and a roof over his head with Yasmeen. Viewers knew that Stu was estranged from his family and previously worked as a chef in the Navy.

And the reason for his lack of family support has now been confirmed when his ex-wife, Lucy, showed up at the restaurant and ordered him to stay away from his daughter, Bernadette, who made a brief appearance last month when Yasmeen helped track her down before she slammed the door in his face.

After seeing him made front and centre of an article in The Gazette, Lucy arrived at Speed Daal and ordererd Stu to stay away from their daughter Bridget before dropping the bombshell secret from Stu’s past as she reminded her ex of Charlie Walter, the young girl he murdered.

As Lucy strode out of the restaurant, Stu protested his innocence, explaining to Yasmeen and Alya that he was wrongly imprisoned for the murder of a young girl. Yasmeen is yet to believe Stu's pleas and his was arrested by Craig Tinker for being in breach of the peace when he showed up at her home.
