‘It was weird’ – Barnsley player blasts Fulham figure after transfer

New Barnsley signing Domingos Quina has taken aim at Fulham boss Marco Silva after completing his move to Oakwell, as per a recent interview he gave to the Yorkshire Post.

The versatile midfielder has found himself loaned out by Watford again as he seeks to get some much needed regualr game time, this time making the journey north to join Barnsley until the end of the current campaign.

It was a move that brought to an end Quina’s Fulham nightmare, with the Portuguese born playmaker having been limited to making just four appearances for the Whites, whilst also being publicly criticised for his perceived lack of work rate by Marco Silva.

Now the 22-year-old has spoken out for the first time about that episode and certainly didn’t hold back with his comments on Silva:

“It was weird, I did not understand that (Silva’s comments). He has to say something to make his point, but I have nothing against him and everyone there.”

Quina failed to even start one game under Silva during his time at Craven Cottage and it was therefore unsurprising when he chose to leave the West London side last month.

The midfielder will now be looking to become a regualr for the Tykes.

The Verdict 

This could be the move which finally gives Quina the chance to show what he can do as everyone knows that he is an extremely talented player.

Clearly he just wasn’t fancied by Silva and as a result he was regularly overlooked.

At Barnsley he is going to be playing under someone who trusts him openly and that is something which can only be a good thing moving forwards.
