'It was absolute madness': Neighbours recall moment car ploughed into house leaving man, 20, seriously injured

Locals have spoken of the chaotic scenes after a car ploughed into a house in Bolton leaving a man seriously injured. The drama unfolded on Highfield Road in Farnworth shortly before 11pm on Wednesday night (April 10).

A Nissan note crashed into the front of a semi-detached house. Emergency services raced to the scene and the driver, a 20-year-old man, was rushed to hospital with serious injuries.

Road closures were put in place as fire crews made the scene safe and police began an investigation into the collision. It reopened this morning but police and building specialists have been at the house throughout the day.

A woman said she rushed to Highfield Road last night to check on her dad who lives near to the house the car smashed. She said: “I saw the aftermath. There were police, fire engines and an ambulance. It was absolute madness, just horrendous.”

Seville Davis, 89, who has lived on Highfield Road for 34 years with his wife Yvonne,77, said she saw the car embedded in the front of the house this morning on his way to get the paper. “I thought, how did he do that? Flying car? My wife heard a
