"It sounds like..." - Journalist drops early THFC team news update that is "quite big for Spurs"

The return of Rodrigo Bentancur and Lucas Moura will be a huge boost for Tottenham, according to journalist Paul Brown.

The duo have missed the last couple of games through injury but are in line to return for tonight’s meeting with Everton.

The Uruguayan made a bright start to his Premier League career and quickly became a regular under Antonio Conte.

Bentancur had started three Premier League games on the bounce, although he suffered an ankle injury in the first half of the defeat at Burnley last month, which forced him to miss out against Leeds and Middlesbrough.

He was initially meant to be sidelined for around three weeks, although Conte confirmed that the midfielder is ahead of schedule and is available to face the Toffees.

Moura has also missed the last two games after suffering a dead leg at Turf Moor but is in line to make a swift return in what is a huge boost to Conte’s squad. The Italian had just two attacking options on the bench against Boro last week, and one of them was 17-year-old Dane Scarlett.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “It sounds like they’re in contention, it should be quite big for Spurs.

“Moura hasn’t always been a guaranteed starter, but he has played a lot of his best football for Conte, so he’s quite an important player even if he doesn’t start.”

Conte is could make changes following the FA Cup exit, with both players surely in contention for starting berths.

However, providing Bentancur is fit enough to play 90 minutes, there’s every chance he’ll come straight back into the side and replace Harry Winks. Tottenham have looked short on quality in midfield without him, which should allow him to take up his place alongside
