'It's bullying': Woman left 'intimidated' after bailiffs 'threaten to break in' over son's bus lane fine
A mum says she has been left 'intimidated' in her own home after 'aggressive' bailiffs threatened to 'bring a locksmith' over her son's bus lane fine.
The Oldham woman, who has asked not to be named, said she had no knowledge of the fine before she was visited by an enforcement agent from Marston Holdings in October, who delivered a letter through her door claiming her son owed £409. It said the agent had visited 'with the intention to remove your belongings' and that 'enforcement action will carry on if you don't pay the total amount you owe or contact the agent immediately'.
Panicking, she says she rang the agent immediately and explained her son did not live at her address and everything there belonged to her. But she says she was left shaken and 'scared,' claiming she has 'never been spoken to like that'. A spokesperson for Marston Holdings said it 'operates in strict compliance with all government regulations' and they are 'satisfied' the actions of their agent complies with these.

"I rang the agent up and just told him - my son's got no money," she said. "I told him I'd be happy to try and pay it off because I didn't want any trouble."
She offered the agent monthly instalments, she says, but claims she was told it 'wasn't good enough' and to 'ring back when you've got a better offer'. So the next evening she claims she rang again, this time offering payments of £30 per month.
