Birmingham City manager is currently under growing pressure at Birmingham City, as per a report on Sunday from Football Insider. 

Then, yesterday, the Blues were thrashed 6-1 by Blackpool, adding even more problems for the former Charlton Athletic boss.

Sitting on 45 points, Birmingham are currently 20th in the Championship, however, their 11 point advantage over Peterborough United in 22nd means that they have already ensured their second-tier status for another year.

The Blues have lost their last three matches, conceding 12 goals in the process, with only Reading and Peterborough conceding more than Birmingham’s 70 this season.

Birmingham would be third bottom in the Championship if it was not for the points deductions of Reading and Derby County, but that blame does not go to Bowyer.

The former League Cup winner kept the team up almost single handedly last season after arriving in March with the team in a worrying position.

In most cases, a manager can only perform as well as the board at the club allow him to, and judging him on that basis, Bowyer has done well since arriving at St Andrew’s.

It has seemed clear for a few years now, that the Blues are destined for relegation to League One under their current ownership, Jude Bellingham’s emergence has delayed that inevitable occurrence, and Bowyer could be a good manager to take the club down next season with a League One promotion
