"It means more" - Trent Alexander-Arnold makes lazy Man City spending jibe ahead of Liverpool showdown

It's Monday morning before a huge title showdown between Manchester City and Liverpool in six days - and the Liverpool camp are already getting the spending digs in nice and early.

As City fans wake up with the Manchester bragging rights after the derby win over Manchester United on Sunday, attention will soon turn to Liverpool in the Premier League - but only after the Blues attempt to book a Champions League last-16 place on Wednesday against FC Copenhagen.

Pep Guardiola insisted that he would only think about Liverpool after the Copenhagen clash, but it seems the Liverpool squad are already getting themselves motivated for Sunday's huge title-race clash, despite having a Europa League last-16 fixture of their own in Prague on Thursday.

With Jurgen Klopp leaving Anfield this summer, Liverpool and their fans are desperate to see the German off with another Premier League title, and they can still win as many as four trophies this season having secured the Carabao Cup last week. City and Liverpool have gone toe-to-toe under Klopp and Guardiola, with City prevailing to win four of the last five titles, to Liverpool's one.

According to Trent Alexander-Arnold, scorer at the Etihad earlier this season, City may have the trophies and the titles, but Liverpool's fewer winners' medals have a greater significance to their club because they have spent less money to achieve their success.
