Isthmian League round-up: Wins for Margate, Ramsgate, VCD Athletic and Ashford United

Two second-half goals proved decisive as Margate posted back-to-back Isthmian Premier wins for the first time this season on Saturday, defeating Canvey 2-0.

Both sides were reduced to 10 men early in the second half as first Gate's Sam Blackman and then Mason Hall collected second yellow cards.

Korrey Henry put Margate ahead after Cameron Brodie's effort was saved and Ben Greenhalgh added a second goal nine minutes from time.

Herne Bay failed to take advantage of a first-half red card for hosts Bognor as they lost 2-1 at Nyewood Lane.

James Crane put Bognor ahead but Kieron Campbell equalised within three minutes.

Crane then collected a second yellow card 11 minutes before half-time but Nathan Odokonyero's penalty at the start of the second half gave Bognor maximum points.

Mitch Chapman's second goal of the season gave Cray Wanderers a creditable 1-1 draw at second-placed Potters Bar, who led through Mo Kamara.

Isthmian South East leaders Ramsgate got back to winning ways with a 3-1 victory at East Grinstead.

Ashley Miller made it four goals in as many games with a brace while Lauric Diakiesse also netted after Tahjae Anderson had given Grinstead an early lead.

Supersub Youssef Bamba came off the bench to hand VCD a 2-1 win over Sheppey.

It's the third game running that Bamba has come on and scored for Vickers, his 89th-minute goal denying the Ites a point.

Jordan Greaves had put VCD ahead in the first half but player-boss Jack Midson's low drive equalised straight after the restart.

On-loan Dover striker George Nikaj took his tally for the season to seven with the only goal of the game as Ashford defeated Cray Valley, for whom Adam Coombes hit the woodwork.

Chatham let a two-goal lead slip as they were held 2-2 at
