Isthmian League round-up: Chatham end leaders Hornchurch’s unbeaten start, Margate get first point under Mark Stimson, Sittingbourne and Sheppey win

Chatham ended Isthmian Premier leaders Hornchurch’s unbeaten start to the season with a 2-0 win at Maidstone Road on Saturday.

Kevin Hake’s men closed the gap on Hornchurch at the top to five points, although the Essex side still have three games in hand.

Chris Dickson put Chatham ahead with 15 minutes left before substitute Ashley Nzala’s header wrapped up the points.

Mark Stimson was denied his first win at Margate boss after a last-gasp equaliser earned visitors Kingstonian a 2-2 draw.

Former Dartford stalwart Tom Bonner saw red as Cray Wanderers went down 1-0 at Hashtag United.

Bonner was sent off by referee Aaron Conn after clashing with the home side’s Thomas Anderson after 26 minutes.

Wanderers held out until the 64th minute when Luke May-Parrott scored the only goal of the game.

Sheppey are up to fourth in Isthmian South East after leaving it late to win 2-1 at Lancing – their third victory in a week.

Javaun Splatt cancelled out Lukas Franzen-Jones’ opener for the home side in the first half.
