Is Tyson Fury retiring after Dillian Whyte fight? Gypsy King stance revealed

Boxing promoter Frank Warren has revealed his thoughts on whether Tyson Fury will retire from boxing following his clash with Dillian Whyte. The Gypsy King has repeatedly said he will call time on his professional career following the fight.

Fury, whose last fight saw him defeat Deontay Wilder via a knock-out, teased retirement in a recent interview. He said: “There’s nothing for me to achieve. I’ve won every single belt there is to win in the sport and I’m getting out healthy, in one piece and undefeated.”

When asked if tonight is the last time we’re going to see Fury in the ring, Warren answered: "It’s going to be what it’s going to be. He’s his own man. Whatever he decides to do, I’ll support him.

"You don’t want to be getting into the ring if your heart’s not in it; that’s when you start getting hurt. If he feels that’s how it is, God bless him and he’s going to do what he’s going to do afterwards.”

However, Fury's father, John, has made clear that he believes his son will continue to fight after the bout with Whyte.

The fight, which is scheduled to take place at around 10pm on Saturday, will be watched by around 94,000 fans inside Wembley Stadium and promoter Warren described it as the most high-profile event he has been involved in.

"It is the biggest," said Warren. "It’s the biggest in Europe. I’m not going to bore everyone with the statistics but it’s 94,000 [in attendance at Wembley] and it’s the highest-grossing event they’ve ever had here, for anything.

He then added his thoughts on how the fight would, saying: “My opinion is, I can’t see Dillian out-boxing him [Fury], he’s got to back him up, get under his jab.

"The problem is, he’s dealing with a guy who’s a bit of an enigma, as far as boxing is concerned.
