Is Rassie Erasmus again poking a World Rugby refereeing bear that landed him in hot water?

In Genoa

SA Rugby director of rugby Rassie Erasmus has been known to push boundaries, especially when it comes to inconsistent officiating.

Now, he is it again, this time poking the sleeping bear that is World Rugby following Saturday's 30-26 loss to France in Marseille.

Erasmus has just come off a year-long ban from attending any matchday activity after he was sanctioned for the aftermath of the first British & Irish Lions Test last year, where he criticised Nic Berry's handling of the game that South Africa lost at the Cape Town Stadium in a lengthy video that found its way onto public airways.

Judging from Erasmus' Twitter timeline over the last 48 hours, he is far from done in voicing his criticisms of decisions involving the Boks, even if they are portrayed in cleverly worded and sarcastic tones.

On 6 November, the day after South Africa's 19-16 loss against Ireland at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Erasmus pointed out inaccuracies in Georgian referee Nika Amashukeli's officiating.

The incident in question saw Ireland hooker, Dan Sheehan, kicking the ball out of a ruck, which is illegal, but it wasn't picked up by Amashukeli.

The resultant loose ball was then gathered by Ireland's number eight Caelan Doris, from where the hosts recycled the ball quickly and scored through wing Mack Hansen.

That 50th-minute try allowed Ireland to increase their lead to 16-6, a deficit the Springboks couldn't quite make up despite scoring two tries.

Erasmus' tweet showed a different camera angle that wasn't in the game to highlight the offence and later on, Springbok lock Eben Etzebeth was penalised (rightly so) for the same offence.

Tough test match, thanks for all the support from ????, also thanks to the Ireland supporters at the Aviva, you
