But that European exit could yet prove a blessing in disguise as the resurgent Light Blues turn their full focus towards a remarkable Premiership title push. A 1-0 win over Ludogorets made it seven victories on the bounce across all competitions since that shattering defeat to Hearts at Tynecastle just before Christmas.

At the time, many fans and pundits claimed that loss had put the nail in the coffin of Rangers’ 2025/26 championship hopes.

Instead, Rohl’s men have defied the odds and hauled themselves right back into contention - moving level on points with Celtic after once trailing their Old Firm rivals by a whopping nine.

Another victory over Dundee this weekend would keep the momentum rolling, but Rangers cannot afford to take Steven Pressley’s enigmatic Dee side lightly, having already dropped points against them earlier in the season.

Rangers host Dundee at Ibrox on Sunday January 25. Kick-off is at 3pm.

Unfortunately, the fixture has not been selected by Sky Sports or Premier Sports. However, fans can tune into Sportscene highlights on BBC One Scotland from 10:40pm.
