Is Erling Haaland injured for Man City vs Arsenal? Injury news latest and FPL update

Fantasy Premier League players will be sweating on the availability of Erling Haaland for Manchester City's trip to Arsenal on Wednesday.

Haaland was substituted at halftime of City's 3-1 win over Aston Villa after receiving treatment during the first half for an injury to his right thigh. Due to the double gameweek, Haaland has been captained by several FPL managers and they will be hoping he is fit to start after picking up just one assist during his 45 minutes on the field against Villa.

City face a huge title showdown with Arsenal at the Emirates in a couple of days' time, which is widely being described as a six-pointer. Pep Guardiola's side can move above the Gunners on goal difference with a win, while Arsenal can open up a six-point gap with a game in hand if they are to come out on top.

Guardiola is quietly confident that Haaland will be available in north London after speaking with the doctors at halftime. He claimed that the Norwegian was suffering discomfort due to a knock rather than a muscle injury but while Guardiola is hopeful, Haaland will not play if there is any sort of risk attached.

He said: “Erling has a kick and we will see. We will assess him in the next few days to see how severe it is. At halftime I spoke with the doctors to see and they said maybe at 3-0 we don’t need to take a risk and I agreed with the doctors.
