'Irish Zidane' - Reading FC supporters rave over Newcastle United loanee Jeff Hendrick
Reading FC fans have been raving about new midfielder Jeff Hendrick after the loanee netted his second goal in three pre-season matches on Tuesday night.
The Republic of Ireland international scored Royals' second goal in their 2-0 victory over League Two outfit AFC Wimbledon at Plough Lane.
It marked the end of a memorable first week at Reading for the 30-year-old, who signed last Tuesday and scored on the same day in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Maidenhead United.
He then produced an impressive display in the 1-1 draw with West Ham United over the weekend in his first display in front of Royals fans at the Select Car Leasing Stadium before finding the net once again against the Dons with a superb effort.
Hendrick's performances over the past couple of days have created quite a stir among supporters who are anxious to see what he can offer the team for the season ahead. Here are a selection of their views taken from social media.
I think we might have signed Kevin De Bruyne.
