Ireland skipper Katie McCabe extends Arsenal contract
Republic of Ireland captain Katie McCabe has signed a new contract at Arsenal, the Women's Super League club have announced.
The versatile Dubliner, 28, has made 193 appearances for the Gunners, scoring 31 goals, since joining them in December 2015.
McCabe's previous deal had been set to expire next summer and the length of the new contract has not been revealed. Arsenal are believed to have rejected what was called a "substantial" transfer bid from WSL rivals Chelsea in January this year.
McCabe has helped Arsenal win the 2019 WSL title, one FA Cup and two League Cups.
During the summer she skippered the Ireland team at the World Cup in New Zealand and Australia, the country's first appearance at a major women's tournament finals, and scored their only goal of the campaign, direct from a corner against Canada.
