Ireland's showdown with Finland already a sellout
The Republic of Ireland's huge World Cup qualifier against Finland on 1 September at Tallaght Stadium has already been sold out.
Ireland are second in Group A, a point ahead of the Finns, with both teams having two more games to play.
Sweden have already won the group but the runner-up spot, and with it a place in the play-offs, is up for grabs.
If Ireland beat Finland they are assured of second place, and they are set to be backed by a record crowd for an Irish women's soccer international after tickets sold out over a month away from the game.
The current record attendance is 5,238 – when Ireland beat Ukraine in Vera Pauw's first game at the helm back in October 2019. That number looks set to be well beaten.
