Ireland's final T20 clash with India abandoned with no play possible
The final Twenty20 of the three-match series between Ireland and India was abandoned due to rain in Dublin.
India already held an unassailable 2-0 lead but were denied the chance of a whitewash.
The scheduled toss was delayed due to light rain and that allowed members of India's team to watch their country become the first nation to land a spacecraft near the Moon's south pole.
While there were celebrations aplenty back in India, the wet weather showed no sign of going away at Malahide and both captains shook hands just before 6pm after confirmation the T20 had to be abandoned.
Ireland will now turn their attention to next month’s one-day internationals with England, which will start on 20 September, while India will prepare for the upcoming Asia Cup with their campaign beginning against Pakistan on 2 September.
