Ireland Rugby World Cup warm-up games live on RTÉ

Ireland's Rugby World Cup warm-up games against Italy, England and Samoa will be shown live on RTÉ.

Andy Farrell's team will host Italy and England at the Aviva Stadium next month.

The Six Nations champions will then take on Samoa in Bayonne, their final outing of the Bank of Ireland Summer Series before the Rugby World Cup.

Ireland's opening Pool B game takes place against Romania in Bordeaux on 9 September.

They also face Tonga, South Africa and Scotland.

The match against the Azzurri kicks off at 8pm on 5 August, while the clash with Steve Borthwick's England has a 5.30pm start on 19 August.

The last game of the series takes place on 26 August against the Samoans in the south of France with a 7.45pm (Irish time) kick-off.

The three matches will be shown on RTÉ2 and RTÉ Player.

Ireland, who won the Grand Slam in the spring, began training on 19 June and are on a week's break before returning to the High Performance Centre in Dublin next week.

Leinster centre Garry Ringrose was asked about the competition in the training camp where 42 players assembled. Farrell can name 33 players for the World Cup.

"It has to be whittled down, but whatever the group ends up being there's a high chance anyone in the [42] will end up playing, and guys that aren't in the camp as well could end up playing," he said.

"I've been in one World Cup, some of the lads have been in a few and they all say that it's the strength of the group that leads to a successful World Cup.

"Hopefully that makes the whole group better and it won't be too much of a concern until it gets a bit close and maybe will become more of a conversation, but for the most part, everyone is rowing in the same direction."

Ringrose is not sure what the management have planned to change
