'Interesting...' - Transfer insider shares significant Man Utd exit claim on 'top class' gem

Transfer insider Dean Jones has made a bold claim surrounding the future of Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka. 

Signed for £50million from Crystal Palace (BBC), Wan-Bissaka arrived at Old Trafford with great expectations of a long and fruitful career.

However, the 24-year-old energetic right-back has struggled to recapture the form that earned the big-money move in the first place in 126 outings for the Red Devils.

Now, as Erik ten Hag gets his own feet under the table in Manchester, having lost his place to Diogo Dalot last season it could be the end of the road for the former England youth international.

Linked elsewhere with a return to Palace, speaking to Give Me Sport, Jones has claimed that ex-United manager Jose Mourinho is interested in taking Wan-Bissaka to AS Roma.

He said: “At a time when there aren’t many genuine paths for Wan-Bissaka, I’m hearing that there is genuine interest from Roma so that could be an interesting one that would help Ten Hag make space in an area that needs improving quickly.”

Albeit Ten Hag has inherited a squad with far from an embarrassment of riches in the defensive department, allowing Wan-Bissaka to move on to pastures new would free up space and bring in funds to allow the Dutchman to pursue his own targets.
