Inside Benidorm's 'secret tunnel' as woman finds 'breathtaking surprise' at end
A woman was left stunned after she discovered a "secret tunnel" in Benidorm, Spain, and decided to venture down it to see what was on the other side.
Lucy said she had heard about "this creepy tunnel that's tucked into the mountain side", and had previously spotted it while on a boat out at sea. She didn't want to reveal the exact location, as to not "encourage anyone to come down and get stuck".
Taking to the Benidorm Stuff YouTube channel, she admitted she had "no idea where it goes, how long it is, if it even leads anywhere, or if there's anything living down there". But she ventured there anyway, battling through bushes to make it to the entrance.
The entrance itself was very narrow and marked with graffiti. Lucy joked as she stepped inside: "Who's idea was this?!" There she was met with two different paths, and chose the one with "bit of light at the end".
Lucy navigated the muddy, wet floor, ducking to avoid "little holes where bats live". She described the smell as "damp" and explained how the tunnel gradually became smaller and smaller as she went down it. Thankfully, it "opened up" towards the end - and when she got there, she was stunned by what she found.
She couldn't contain her excitement as she emerged from the tunnel, exclaiming: "Wooooow, look at that." The footage showed a gorgeous view of the Mediterranean Sea unfolding below some cliffs. "I'm absolutely over the moon that we've done that," she gushed, "because look at that view! That is absolutely stunning. When you come out of that tunnel, wow, that literally takes your breath away."
Viewers were equally impressed, with one commenting: "What a view, if I went down there I'd never get back up again so a big THANK YOU." Another fan chimed in:
