Influencer stays in Blackpool hotel for entire month to see if it's cheaper than paying rent

With the rising cost of bills, living and just about everything, it can seem as though life is getting more expensive by the day.

As rent and mortgage prices are on the up, one internet 'influencer' wanted to see if it would cheaper to stay in a hotel for an entire month, than it is to pay rent. Zac Jones visited Blackpool to test out this theory, staying in one of the cheaper establishments in the seaside town.

At the start of the video, Zac informs viewers the most affordable hotel in Blackpool is The Midway, priced at only £499 for one month. However, in almost the same breath, Zac brings up some TripAdvisor reviews on the accommodation, with one that reads: "The worst possible stay imaginable."

It explains: "This is a disgusting unsanitary, unsafe, mouldy dump. Do not book this hotel!!!" Other reviews state the hotel "needs to be closed down", citing dirty mattresses and a rotten carpet.

Zac, who posts on TikTok as @zacjonesliverpool, states he has booked in for the night at a cost of £16.20 and shows the steps down to the hotel's entrance. He zooms in on a spider in the window and what appears to be junk and rubbish in front of the door, LancsLive reports.

He's then shown to his room and where the toilet and showers are, before giving a room tour. He says: "You know, I think I'd rather rent.

"This is the room. What stands out to me the most is how old these carpets are. You've got three beds, so you could have a little party in here."

Zac carries on his tour, showing the television and chest of drawers which fall apart as he opens them, just as he says: "It's pretty rough isn't it?"
