Ejuke out for three months with hamstring injury

Super Eagles forward Chidera Ejuke is expected to be out for at least three months after suffering a hamstring injury.

The 26-year-old’s Spanish club, Sevilla, who confirmed this in a statement on their X handle described it as a high-grade hamstring injury.

Ejuke suffered the injury during Sevilla’s Game week 10 La Liga game against Barcelona which they lost 5-1 to the Catalans.

He was then replaced by Arsenal midfielder on loan to Sevilla, Albert Sambi Lokonga, in the first minute of first half added time.

Ejuke is now automatically out of the Super Eagles squad that will face Benin Republic and Rwanda in November’s AFCON 2025 qualifiers.

He made a return to the Eagles in the double header against the Mediterranean Knights of Libya in the AFCON qualifiers.

He did not feature in the first leg in Uyo which the Eagles won 1-0 and was part of the team that was detained at an airport for over 10 hours by the Libyan authorities.

The forward who became the first-ever Nigerian to sign for Sevilla when he joined them in the summer, has scored one in nine La Liga games.

Following is impressive performance, Ejuke was named Sevilla Player of the Month for September.
