Incredible scenes as hundreds take part in balloon release for teens killed in Ely crash
A touching vigil is taking place in Cardiff following the deaths of two boys in an electric bike crash. Around 1,000 people have gathered in Ely in memory of best friends Kyrees Sullivan, 16, and Harvey Evans, 15, who died on Monday in a collision in Snowden Road.
Ahead of the event, a friend of the families posted online: "We know tensions are still high right now. But we ask if tomorrow night for the balloon release people can keep their anger inside."
The memorial started at 5.30pm in Snowden Road and many hundreds of mourners have since amassed in the surrounding area. Many are carrying blue and white balloons or wearing white T-shirts with the faces of Kyrees and Harvey printed on them.
Fireworks and blue and orange flares have been set off to loud applause, as well as heart-shaped balloons.
