IN PICTURES | Springboks demolish Romania in Bordeaux try-fest
The Springboks ran rampant in their second World Cup match in Bordeaux on Sunday, thumping Romania 76-0 in a showing of both quality and versatility, as News24 Sport editor Lloyd Burnard wrote in his first take.
The Springboks, who beat Scotland 18-3 in their opening match, have yet to concede a try in the 2023 instalment of the tournament.
The Boks bagged the bonus point inside 12 minutes.
Winger Makazole Mapimpi, who was crowned man of the match, also scored a hat-trick, and carried the ball for an impressive 176m.
Grant Williams also scored two tries from the right wing.
South Africa and Romania have played once before – during the 1995 Rugby World Cup in South Africa. The Boks won the Test 21-8 at Newlands.
The Springboks will meet Ireland in Paris next week.
