In 2020, Newcastle's squad for the 2022/23 season was predicted

October 7, 2021, is a day Newcastle United fans will never forget.

Centre-backs: Phil Jones, John Stones, Fabian Schar, Leonardo Bonucci

Newcastle have signed two centre-backs under their new ownership thus far: Sven Botman and Dan Burn.

Jones, Stones and Bonucci remain at Manchester United, Manchester City and Juventus respectively.

Schar is still at Newcastle and played 26 times in the 2021/22 season.

Left-backs: Lucas Digne, Paul Dummett

Newcastle were reportedly interested in signing Digne in
