Imagine him & DCL: Lampard can form "outrageous" duo in Everton bid for £50m target - opinion

Everton were rather busy during the previous January transfer window as they brought in five new players on loan and permanent deals.

Three of those winter recruits came from three of Everton’s fellow Premier League clubs.

In addition to signing Dele Alli on a permanent deal from Tottenham Hotspur, the Toffees also brought in Anwar El Ghazi from Aston Villa and Donny van de Beek on loans.

Now that their 2021/22 Premier League season has ended and Frank Lampard will be set to guide the Toffees through another top-flight campaign, the current summer transfer window will give them the opportunity to put themselves in the best shape possible and make sure they don’t end up in another relegation battle.

In terms of potential incoming transfers, one figure the Merseyside club have been linked with that would not only see them continue their theme of signing players from fellow Premier League clubs, but also give Lampard the chance to form what could be a deadly duo in his side, is Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher.

During his loan spell away from the west London club last season with Crystal Palace, the midfielder ended up scoring eight goals and providing three assists in 34 Premier League appearances.

In fact, his second goal against West Ham United back in August was described by Dan Cook on Twitter as “outrageous.”

To further highlight how impressive he was for the Eagles, only Tyrick Mitchell (187) racked up a higher combined total of tackles and interceptions in the league than Gallagher (112).

From an attacking point of view, as well as his goals and assists, only Wilfried Zaha (104) made more shot-creating actions than the midfield maestro (89).

This is where he’d be able to create a scary partnership with Everton
