If you love theatre, want to tread the boards or work front of house or backstage then become a Garrick Volunteer

There is much more to being part of a theatre than getting up on the stage to act and being in the limelight, you might find yourself operating the spotlight on opening night or working on the makeup or costume so the character looks the part. Whatever it is that inspires you, pop along to the Altrincham Garrick Playhouse. They would love to meet you.

The day-to-day management of the theatre is run by an Executive Team composed of an Artistic Director and Operations Director and overseen by a non-executive Board of Directors. There are a small number of employees in specific areas such as the Box Office, Front of House, Accounting, Maintenance, and Workshop.

The Garrick is a registered charity, so the management of the theatre's finances and legal issues is governed by a Board of Trustees. The remainder of the team is made up of dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers. Together this makes up the Garrick Theatre family.

With a long and illustrious history from its initial stirrings in November 1913 through the major redevelopment/refurbishment completed in 1999, to the present day set of offerings including in-house homegrown Garrick productions, visiting productions, youth training and a cinema-quality Picturehouse.

Joseph Meighan, Artistic Director at the theatre said: "I think it is a very exciting time to get involved with Altrincham Garrick Playhouse as we re-emerge as a creative community after the effects of the Pandemic. We want to evolve and widen our offering so that even more people can get involved and get creative!

"We've recently launched our own Choir - The Altrincham Garrick Show Choir - and we are planning for more groups and activities to launch soon."
