Ianis Hagi roars Rangers haven't seen the best of him yet as three days of injury torture fuel return bid

Determined Ianis Hagi has promised he’ll be back better than ever as the Rangers ace hailed the support of his family for helping him through six months of injury hell.

The Ibrox playmaker hasn’t kicked a ball for Gio van Bronckhorst’s side since rupturing his ACL in January's Scottish Cup clash with Stirling Albion.

His father, Real Madrid and Barcelona icon Gheorghe Hagi, confessed last week the 23-year-old may yet face another three to four months on the sideline as he continues his recovery from major knee surgery.

It’s been a dark period for the Romania international, who admits he’s been left with sleepless nights fretting over his future.

His anguish has been worsened by the fact he was forced to sit and watch as his club-mates mounted their incredible charge to last month’s Europa League final in Seville.

But having missed out on Rangers ' remarkable journey, Hagi says he’s determined to hit even higher heights on his return to action.

In an interview in his homeland with AS.ro , the Rangers star said: “The team's road to the Europa League final was extraordinary. When you have such an injury, it is never easy.

“Sometimes you are alone, and you can't sleep at night.

“My family has been with me. They supported me unconditionally and understood what I needed to recover 100 per cent. I'm very happy with how the recovery went.

“Life is complicated. Everything that has happened in my life since I started playing football has been surrounded by football.

“(Being injured) is like taking a baby's toy away so I can't do what I love.
