Ianis Hagi 'rejects' Rangers contract offer as playmaker nears Ibrox exit with Galatasaray on alert
Ianis Hagi has rejected a new Rangers contract, according to reports.
The Romanian's current Ibrox deal is due to expire at the end of the season. However, as exclusively revealed by MailSport the Light Blues won't be taking up the option to extend that agreement unless Hagi is willing to accept reduced terms. The player has since revealed he is open to hearing what the club have to offer but Romanian outletPro Sport now claim the playmaker has knocked back an offer from the Scottish Premiership side.
The 26-year-old has been linked with moves to Genoa and Galatasaray as he approaches the end of his contract - having emerged as a key player for Philippe Clement despite looking like he was heading out of the exit door in August. After returning from a loan spell with Deportvio Alaves, the Belgian claimed that he would likely leave before the end of the summer window as he didn't have the skills required for the club.
But Hagi had no intention on leaving. Record Sport reported that a clause in his contract would have triggered a pay bump, which explained his absence from the first team squad.
Speaking earlier this month, Galatasaray boss Okan Buruk left the door open for a summer arrival. He said: "During a previous transfer window, we were interested in him. He is a very good player.
"Unfortunately, he was injured in the past. But now, he is OK. I know he's playing well at Rangers now.
"I remember him when he was a child here at Galatasaray. He used to be everywhere. He was sitting and watching the training.
"In the last two years, I have always followed Ianis. Now he is in good shape. He is a good footballer, with potential. I repeat, we were interested in him during a transfer period, but he plays for another
