Ian Holloway and Jack Ross set for Motherwell job talks as Steelmen ramp up boss search

Jack Ross and Ian Holloway are two of the names Motherwell will speak to with regards their vacant managerial post.

Fir Park chiefs are holding meetings today over who will replace Steven Hammell, the club legend who was sacked as boss amid a relegation battle in the Premiership and Scottish Cup elimination to Raith Rovers last Saturday. Interim gaffer Stuart Kettlewell guided the Steelmen to a first home win in six months on Wednesday against St Mirren but it's believed that the club will look externally for their new manager.

Former Dundee United and Hibs leader Jack Ross is one man they will speak with, alongside two managers out of work following jobs in England. One of those names is claimed to be Ian Holloway, the popular former Crystal Palace and QPR manager. He has been out of work since leaving Grimsby Town, with both bosses boasting busy CV's to browse over.

Ex-Hull City and Peterborough United man Grant McCann has also been mentioned. An appointment could be made before Sunday's televised league match at home to Hearts.
