Ian Evatt sends Morecambe warning as Bolton Wanderers plan changes after Port Vale draw

Ian Evatt believes the 'magnificent' squad he has at his disposal means he will be able to change this and ensure freshness in his side when Bolton Wanderers take on Morecambe following their weekend draw against Port Vale.

Wanderers could have taken the lead early on but Dapo Afolayan's effort was parried wide by Jack Stevens. But the Whites were reduced to 10 men when Ricardo Santos was shown a second yellow card.

Santos was shown his first following Nathan Smith going to ground from a corner. But controversy followed with his second booking by referee Ross Joyce which appeared to be harsh after Ellis Harrison appeared to go to ground easily.

After the break, Aaron Morley called Stevens into action with a fantastic save. The Valiants were the more dominant side but Trafford came to their aid with a sublime stop from Harrison as Wanderers held out to claim a point and ensure they continued their unbeaten start to the League One season.

The game at Vale Park was played in temperatures of around 30 degrees celsius as the UK went through a second heatwave in the space of a month. Wanderers are poised to freshen things for the clash against the Shrimps.

Wanderers worked hard in pre-season and trained as normal last month during the hot temperatures after a loss to Carlisle United. Evatt was proud of his side for their performance against the Valiants and believes their pre-season graft prepared them well for it.
