Ian Evatt on facing Cheltenham, team selection vow & Robins player Bolton Wanderers have admired

Bolton Wanderers will be seeking to make it back to back wins in League One this weekend when they make the trip to Gloucestershire to take on Cheltenham Town.

The Whites make the journey to the West Country sitting just outside the League One play-off places at this early stage of the season. The Robins meanwhile sit in the play-off places.

Should Bolton win and results elsewhere go their way on Saturday, they could be back in the top six by 5pm. They will be aiming to build upon the 3-1 win over Chalrton Athletic picked up last weekend.

Before the game, Wanderers boss Ian Evatt spoke to the press at a pre-match press conference. Here's a transcript of what he had to say to broadcasters.

Is this game at Cheltenham, given the expectation levels have risen and they are in the bottom four, do you think people would expect you to win where they haven’t in previous seasons?

“I wouldn't take any notice of them being in the bottom four of if they’re in the top four. We’re only seven games in and it’s a 46-game season. It’s always a difficult place to go, it’s tight, it’s compact.

“They’ve obviously evolved a little bit, we know them probably better than most with playing against them in League Two and then League One and Wadey’s took over from Duffo. There’s some similarities there but I think Wadey wants to put his own stamp on it.

“They’re all difficult games, there’s no easy ones and obviously we’re Bolton Wanderers, wherever we go, we carry expectation but we have to concentrate on our own performance levels and manage those expectations, but if we can perform to the levels we can get to then I think we’re a good team.”
