I went to Currys, Dunelm and Lakeland to upgrade my home appliances, and found £500 off Samsung's 'brilliant' 4K Ultra HD TV

This time of year isn't short of sales on everything from fashion and beauty, to tech and homewares, with many offering price drops on older stock. And, having just moved house, I was in desperate need to find new appliances, with a speaker, kettle, and toaster on my list to buy.

Venturing out to Dunelm, Lakeland and Currys to see what I could find, I learned Lakeland would be a hit for anyone on the lookout for a cheaper version of Ninja's viral air fryers, as it sells a very similar dual basket model for £99 - although this wasn't something I needed.

Meanwhile, Dunelm currently has a huge 50% off sale, where hundreds of soft furnishings like waffle bedding, cushions and the all-trending boucle upholstered furniture can be found for a fraction of the price. However, apart from a nifty £18 plug-in heater (I'll certainly be reaching for when it's cold) I didn't go for any tech appliances from the store.

It was across the road at Currys where one stunning Samsung TV caught my eye. At first glance, you'd think that the Samsung The Frame TV was a muted piece of wall art. But it's actually a very smart 4K Ultra HD TV that a click of the remote or voice activation will turn on.

As a tech writer who covered the release of Samsung's flashy telly, I couldn't believe the price of it now. Currys is currently offering a huge £500 discount on the biggest 85-inch model, thanks to its £200 discounted price plus £300 in cashback for anyone who buys it - and, having followed the brand closely, it's not something I've seen before.
