I watched Ruben Amorim's first match since Man United appointment - their next move is clear

Ruben Amorim cut a relaxed and almost emotionless figure on the touchline as he began his farewell tour in Lisbon with a resounding victory.

It is clear for all to see that Sporting are now an incredibly well-oiled machine and full credit must go to Amorim for that. Despite all the upheaval this week, there was never any doubt from the first kick that the league leaders in Portugal were going to put on a show.

Sporting were dominant for large spells of the clash against Estrela da Amadora thanks in large parts to the centre-forward Viktor Gyokeres. Everyone is aware of the Swede's goalscoring prowess since trading Coventry for Lisbon but it appears he is exactly what Manchester United have been missing.

The confidence exuding from Gyokeres was simply frightening as he scored four of the goals in the 5-1 victory. The way he hits the ball is reminiscent to only one man - Erling Haaland.

Their eye for a goal, their strength and resilience make them almost indistinguishable from one another. If Gyokeres was Haaland's age, United would be needing to splash more than the £85m that the Lisbon club would require to sell.

There is little doubt after this display and his record in Portugal to date that United should be working tremendously hard to get Gyokeres to the club in either January or next summer. Joshua Zirkzee could still come good at Old Trafford but he is never likely to be as prolific as the 26-year-old.

Rasmus Hojlund could get there, he shares similar characteristics to Gyokeres and Amorim will no doubt relish working with a player of the Dane's capabilities. But Gyokeres' signature would be
