I want to write my own history at Sevilla – Akor Adams

Akor Adams has expressed his desire to write his own history at Sevilla and also be a part of the club’s history, adding that he is ready and fit to start playing.

Adams said this and even much more on Tuesday in his first interview as a Sevilla player with the Nigerian acknowledging that “this is a club with a lot of history and I want to be part of it”.

Adams has become the third Nigerian player to join Sevilla after the duo of compatriots, Chidera Ejuke and Kelechi Iheanacho.

Sevilla on Monday announced his signing from Montpellier of France for a reported transfer fee of 5.5 million euros.

The Nigerian striker has signed until 2029 and in his first interview, he began by talking about his experience since his arrival in the city last Saturday.

“I am very happy to arrive here. It has been a very warm welcome. These two days have been very intense but luckily, everything is now closed and we are here.”

As soon as he landed, he travelled to Nervión for his first contact with the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán: “It was fantastic.

“The first impression left a mark on me from the anthem which I really liked. The atmosphere was very good and the fans were very good.

“We should have won the match but Espanyol were very good defensively. We hope to achieve that in the next match.”

He also admitted that his knowledge of Sevilla goes back a long way: “I have seen a lot of the club even before I could imagine that I would end up coming here.

“Above all, the things that have been achieved in Europe. They have conquered Europe, basically.

“I have seen many of the finals. It is a very big club and for me it is a pleasure to belong to it.”
