'I've just got a suspicion' - TalkSport reporter now hints at shock MUFC move for 'unreal' star

TalkSport journalist Alex Crook has tipped Manchester United to sign Roma and England striker Tammy Abraham this summer in a surprise move as they look to miss out on Darwin Nunez.

The Red Devils are in serious need of a rebuild this summer under new boss Erik ten Hag, they have several players leaving on free transfers like Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard, Edinson Cavani, Juan Mata, and Nemanja Matic. They are also rumoured to be looking to offload the likes of Aaron Wan-Bissaka, eric Billy, Phil Jones, Alex Telles, and Anthony Martial this summer as well.

One of their biggest problems last season was scoring goals, outside of club legend Cristiano Ronaldo, who bagged 24 goals, only Bruno Fernandes hit double digits last season while their third-highest scorer was Mason Greenwood, who no longer plays for the club for legal reasons.

As a result of this, they have been linked with several forwards already in this transfer window. However, they have seemingly missed out on top target Nunez as he looks set to sign for Liverpool, which has resulted in links to surprise move for Abraham, who impressed in the Serie A with Roma last season.

Crook revealed this link on the TalkSport GameDay podcast, stating: “I’ve just got a suspicion they might try and get Tammy Abraham out of Roma. He was someone that I think they looked at in January. As I’ve mentioned, we interviewed Tammy on Darren Bent’s Boot Room and he seemed very settled in Italy, but Roma aren’t in the Champions League and nor are Manchester United…

“I think eventually he will want to come back to the Premier League. The question again is: are Manchester United an attractive enough proposition for him?”
